Description
The Rocket Lamp is inspired by the classic lava lamp, a decorative light invented in the 1960s by British entrepreneur Edward Craven Walker. Lava lamps use a simple but mesmerizing principle: colored wax inside a glass container is heated by a bulb at the base, causing it to rise and fall in slow, organic shapes. They became especially popular during the psychedelic design era of the late 1960s and 1970s and are still associated with retro décor, dorm rooms, and creative spaces.

The Rocket Lamp can be purchased from Nook's for 1,500 Bells and can be customized into one of seven color combinations.

Amazon managed to work with the original company that made Lava Lamps in the USA to produce models exclusively for Amazon. They're still made the same way they were in 1965 and just as mesmerizing as ever. If you're looking for maximum quality, you'll want to get an original Mathmos Lava Lamp from the company in the UK started by the founder (which continues to make their version of the lamp in the UK).
