Newton’s Cradle was invented in the 1600s by French physicist Edme Mariotte. It was named after Sir Isaac Newton, as it demonstrates Newton’s First Law (conservation of momentum) by showing “bodies of equal mass with the motion of the moving body being transferred to the one at rest”
In the 1960s, it began being marketed as an executive toy, and it still remains popular today.
TEDCO is a company that makes a lot of classic scientific toys, such as gyroscopes, prisms, and this Newton's Cradle. It looks just like the one Timmy and Tommy sell you, and it can provide you with hours and hours of mesmerizing entertainment at your desk while you work or study.
