Description
The oldest surviving world globe dates back to 1492 with a globe called Erdapfel, created by Martin Behaim of the Holy Roman Empire (now Germany).
Its design of a round globe enclosed in vertical and horizontal interlocking circles continues to be used today.

The cool glove is most likely inspired by Replogle's Illuminated Statesman Globe, which costs around $4000 (!!) If this is a bit too "cool" for your wallet, you can get a similar globe for much less at Bed Bath and Beyond (which has the added feature of letting you store some potent potables inside).
