LEGO Animal Crossing Sets – A Definitive Guide

LEGO Animal Crossing Sets – A Definitive Guide

I discussed the LEGO-themed items in the Version 3.0 release of New Horizons, but pre-dating this was the release of real-life LEGO sets featuring all of the familiar sights and locations on our luxury islands.

The collaboration started a few years ago with Super Mario LEGO sets, and then recently continued with Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda sets. Pokemon is the big fish, and that’s coming out soon (although I have to admit I’m not thrilled with how many of them are ending up looking).

As far as I’m concerned, the Animal Crossing sets are the best quality LEGO-Nintendo ones. Characters like Mario and Pikachu just look kind of odd in LEGO form, but the Animal Crossing characters with their gigantic heads seem to work just fine in LEGO form, and the colorful houses, buildings, and transportation depots look exactly like they do in the game.

All Current and Past LEGO Animal Crossing Sets

There have been 15 Animal Crossing sets released to date. It can get confusing keeping track of all of them, as the Lego and Nintendo Web sites will only show you active items in stock.

To keep track for myself, I put together this list, which I’ll keep up-to-date with every new release and retirement.

My Favorites

It was hard not to buy all of them, but since I’m on a limited budget I had to pick and choose which ones to get.

Here’s my list of favorites in terms of play value, build quality, and longevity, including potential collectible status.

1) Nook’s Cranny & Rosie’s House – Nook’s Cranny has been an icon in every Animal Crossing world, of course. My first introduction to Nook’s Cranny was in City Folk, when Tom dumped me in a tent with a radio and made me earn my first Bells. As you can see, the details are pretty close; they did away with the English lettering so that the LEGO set would work worldwide, but otherwise it’s a very faithful recreation.

2. K.K.’s Concert at the Plaza – I love how this set includes a variety of element from the game, including a camper van, the bulletin board (complete with bird), a tree with fall leaves, the recycling bin, the workout radio, and a little mini cafe stand (a Stall furniture item that Cyrus customized to have Natural x Green Stripes). As you can see here, the Town Hall itself looks exactly right, even down to the speakers by the front door and the workout radio.

3. Blathers’s Museum Collection – Another set where they jam in a lot. The exterior features an orange tree, a fishing pond and what I presume is a helpful gyroid, a Triceratops, and an outdoor fountain. Inside there’s a small aquarium; an coffee corner with a coffee machine, mugs, and a picture of Brewster, some gems, an indoor fountain, and a case filled with treasures. Blathers and Lily the Frog (Normal villager) are also included. Both date back to the early days, and in fact, Lily predates Blathers by one game, as she appeared in Doubutsu no Mori, while Blathers’ first appearance was in Animal Crossing for the GameCube.

4. Able Sisters Clothing Shop – On our island, the Able Sisters’ store is right next to Nook’s Cranny, so it’s nice to be able to put them next to each other in real (LEGO) life. It comes with Mabel the hedgehog, and Sasha the lazy rabbit villager who has added during the 2.0 update in November 2025. It also comes with a full set of accessories, from a lemon tree, to another roadside stand, to the Able Sisters’ store. Inside is a sewing machine, some mannequins, a cash register, and a lovely picture of the three sisters: Mabel, Sable, and Label. If you’ve been playing for a while, you know the sister have a tragic backstory, but they’ve overcome adversity and have done great.

5. Fly with Dodo Airlines – This set is fantastic just for playing; it has the airport with control tower, as well as a biplane with Wilbur. Tangy the Cat is the villager bundled with this one; she’s also been in every version of the game.

My Advice for Buying These

If there’s one you know you want, I’d definitely suggest getting it sooner than later. If you’re going to get a few of these, I’d suggest shopping on LEGO’s site; their Rewards Program is excellent and if you plan it well (e.g. buying at time when there are multiple gifts with purchase or double points), you’ll usually end up with an even better value than Amazon.

On the other hand, Amazon is going to be your best choice if you’re looking for sets that are close to retiring (or even recently retired); you might be able to land some good deals as Amazon and third-party sellers try to clear inventory.

If you see an Amazon link under “Where to Buy” for a retired product it means as of the time I wrote this blog post it was still available in new condition on Amazon at or below the retail price. If you still see it, grab it! I’ll revisit this post from time to time as these sellers run out of inventory and the gougers set in.

If you missed your chance to buy before they retired, I put a link to eBay, where you can usually get it for a decent price that’s just a little bit of a markup from what it sold for retail, as a lot of people buy them to flip.
