Monstera (Plant)

The Monstera Plant (Monstera deliciosa) is a plant from the Araceae family. Many houseplants come from the Aeaceae family, including the Peace Lily, the Pothos, and this plant, the Monstera. There’s a good reason for that. These are essentially invasive plants that are native to tropical rainforests from Central America to Africa to Southeast Asia.

Why would you want what some would consider a “weed” as a houseplant? Simple. They’re beautiful to look at, they clean your air, and they’re impossible to kill. I’m notoriously terrible at taking care of my plants, and yet I’ve had plants like these for over 20 years. They’ve sometimes gone without water for weeks, but spring back to life once I add water. Their natural hardiness in the wild can make even the worst gardener look like a plant expert.
