Air Circulator

Small Appliances

The first electric fan was invented in 1882 by Philip Diehl, an employee of the Singer Manufacturing Company who produced sewing machines. He attached a fan blade to a sewing machine motor and mounted it to the ceiling. It was certainly one of the “coolest” inventions of the 19th century.

In the 1920’s, Ralph K. Odor, an inventor seeking to improve propellor aircraft design, realized that his invention could revolutionize the electric fan industry. He partnered with O.A. Sutton to produce air circulators that didn’t just direct air at a single point, they allowed air to be continuously circulated throughout a room by creating a “vortex” of air. Their company became Vornado.

The air circulator can be purchased from Nook's Cranny for 1,100 Bells or from Wardell's catalog for 990 Poki.
Vornado still sells air circulators today, including their best-selling Vornado 660. Since their patents expired as of 2013 there have been many copycat products, including this one from Japan's Honeywell Corporation.

Animal Crossing's design seems a bit more of a match to Honeywell air circulators. This Honeywell HT-904 air circulator fan is highly rated and one of the best-sellers on Amazon.

Judging by the reviews you'll do fine whether you go with either Vordano or Honeywell.
